How much does it cost to fix a leaning fence?

The price follows the number of posts that have failed. A lean nearly always starts at a post, not at the boards. One or two posts is a standard repair in the table. If most posts along a side are loose or eaten, it costs less to rebuild that side once than to keep sending a truck.

Why is my fence leaning, and can it be fixed without replacing it?

Most leaning fences can be fixed. The usual causes in Tucson are a monsoon gust that rocked the posts loose, wood posts weakened at the ground by termites or by sprinkler water sitting on caliche, and holes that were dug shallow because the installer stopped at the hard layer. If the rails and boards are still good, we set new posts and re-hang the fence on them.

How much does it cost to replace a rotted fence post?

Replacing one or two posts usually falls in the $300 to $900 national range. We pull the post and its footing, open the hole to proper depth, set a new post in concrete and re-attach the rails. A post beside a block wall, in rock or tangled in roots takes longer. In Tucson a wood post is often swapped for galvanized steel so the problem does not come back.

My gate sags and will not latch. Repair or replace?

Repair it in most cases. Start with the hinge post. If it has moved, the whole gate drops. Dry heat also shrinks wood gate frames until they fall out of square, and hinges anchored in old block work loose. We reset or re-anchor the post, square and brace the frame, and move the latch. A frame that has split or rusted through is rebuilt.

How much does a contractor charge to fix a broken gate latch?

That is a minor repair, $100 to $300 in the national 2026 figures. Most fence companies have a minimum charge for coming out, so add any other small fixes to the same visit.

My fence posts shifted after the monsoon and the gate will not close. Can they be reset?

Yes. Tucson has no frost heave. The ground does not freeze deep enough to lift a post. What moves posts here is wind on a solid fence combined with soil that has turned soft from a heavy rain. Pushing the post upright and packing dirt around it does not last. We dig out the footing, take the hole down through or into the caliche, and set the post again in new concrete.

My fence line goes wavy every summer. Is it the soil or a bad installation?

Usually it is the wood and the footings, less often the soil. Boards and rails shrink and twist in dry heat, and a rail fastened to a shallow post follows it. Some parts of the valley do have clay that swells when wet. Posts set to full depth in concrete, with steel posts on long runs, hold a straight line far better.

A branch bent my aluminum fence. Do I need a whole new panel?

Not always. It depends on whether your fence was built from loose rails and pickets or from factory panels. Loose parts can be changed one at a time. A panel is replaced as a unit. Welded steel can often be cut and re-welded on site. Text us a picture and we will tell you which you have.

I’m incredibly happy with the responsiveness and service I received. My wooden fence gate was in bad shape and needed professional repairs. This team responded quickly, came out the same day to assess the damage, provided a fair quote, and completed the repair that very day. The gate is now working perfectly. I had reached out to several other fence companies, but no one else was as attentive. When it’s time for a ne…

I honestly thought fence work would take forever, but these folks proved me wrong. They finished ahead of schedule, and the result looks like something straight out of a magazine. Our neighbors keep asking who did it. That’s how you know it’s good work.
