Fence Installation & Repair services in Tanque Verde
Horse property defines Tanque Verde. This unincorporated valley on the far east side of the Tucson area follows Tanque Verde Creek and the Agua Caliente Wash toward the Rincon and Catalina foothills, and many parcels are an acre or larger with mesquite thickets along the water. We are asked for pipe and cable corrals, no-climb horse mesh on steel posts, arena fencing, and ranch gates on long driveways. The creeks are the main constraint. They run hard in summer and again in wet winters, and large parts of the valley are mapped floodplain, where a solid fence or wall can be refused or must be built with openings so water passes through. Ask before you plan a block wall near a wash. Wildlife is part of daily life, from javelina and coyotes to the occasional bobcat, so small-animal pens need a roof or a tight top. Soil is sandy near the creeks and rocky higher up.

Permits and local rules
Tanque Verde is unincorporated Pima County. Fences and non-retaining walls no more than 7 feet high are listed by the county as not needing a building permit, and on lots of one acre or more the zoning code allows up to 8 feet in side and rear yards. In a regulatory floodplain, the Regional Flood Control District requires a Floodplain Use Permit for any fence or wall and does not allow solid fences in a floodway.
